Number Porting
Please click on one of the questions below to view the answer:
Can I keep my existing mobile phone number?
Yes. You can transfer (or port) your existing mobile phone number.
To do this you MUST BE outside your contractual obligations to your existing network or service provider; this is commonly 12 or 18 months after you received your current phone.
If you are still in an existing contract you may have to pay a release fee.
How do I transfer my number?
To successfully transfer your number you need to follow these simple steps:
- Order your new phone from Matalan mobile
- Speak to your current network provider and ask them for a Porting Authority Code (PAC) for your existing number.
- Call your new network from your handset and inform them of your PAC. They will then provide you with a number transfer date which is normally within 5 working days.
- You will receive a temporary phone number until the transfer is complete within the aforementioned time period.
Please note: The PAC will only remain valid for 30 days so you must act promptly if you wish to transfer your number.
